Camel Valley is Igatpuri's best kept secret. Climb up the Kasara ghats through some hair pin bends, and some picturesque scenes with rail lines appearing suddenly from nowhere, only to vanish into a tunnel soon. And then, when the Igatpuri plateau is just about to start, the sudden depth of 1000 feet to your right is the camel valley.

One of those best monsoon days. 24 hours non-stop rain. A tourism brochure would have said '100% Monsoon. 100% Camel Valley'. Drive to Igatpuri. Trek down to the valley in rain gear. Near zero visibility, thanks to the fog. Get lost in the jungle for some time, trying to figure the trail. Contemplate whether to go ahead or return. Then take a plunge. Try some adventure of river crossing, fed by a 1000 water falls and streams. Taste partial success. Climb back. A perfect Nature Knights day out.
